New Airport in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, Set to Open in Spring of 2018

Vietnam government authorities have announced that an international airport near Ha Long Bay will open in March 2018 according to the officials and reports of Ha Noi Moi Newspaper.

The airport will be the first private airport facility in Vietnam.  It will be located on Van Don Island approximately 50 kilometers from Ha Long Bay and will have a capacity of handling two million passengers a year.

The airport is reputed to cost $30 million and was built to support a $2 billion casino complex located on the island.
